DAY 2: MEET THE HUSKIES – 30th DEC

Our guide is waiting for you at the reception of your cottages. Today we will leave the city behind us to go and meet the lovely huskies.

THRILL OF SPEED - TWO HOURS HUSKY SAFARI
Today we learn how to handle our very own team of huskies. The friendly barks of the huskies welcome you to the local farm but as soon as the safari of dogs departs from the farm, the dogs quiet down and start to work. The huskies love to run! Enjoy the surrounding nature and the sledge ride in silence. Stop for a break in the wilderness and take photos, pet the dogs and hear amazing stories of the lovely huskies. We drive two persons per team, but there is a possibility to change the driver along the way. After the safari, it is time for hugs and goodbyes to your honest and brave husky team before the car transfer back to the city. The average length of the trail is 14-17 km, but the weather conditions and the skills of the participants may affect the length of the ride.

DAY 3: SNOWMOBILE, VISIT OF SANTA AND RIDE WITH THE REINDEER – 31th DEC

Our guide is waiting for you at the reception of your cottages. Today we will start the day by crossing the Arctic Circle! We will visit the residence of Santa as well as its reindeer.
Come and discover the secrets of Santa Claus and his trusted helpers! We start the day by taking a car to the Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle. Meet Mr. Father Christmas himself and take your time to visit Santa’s Official Post Office where letters from all around the world arrive to get sorted. Do some shopping in the many village shops before enjoying a buffet lunch in one of the restaurants. After lunch, we grab our helmets and head for the snowmobiles. After a short instruction in snowmobiling, we make our way to a local reindeer farm. Meet Santa’s trusted helpers – the reindeer, and try a short reindeer sleigh ride. Taking part in a special “Crossing of the Arctic Circle” ceremony highlights the magical day. Return back to the city by snowmobiles with many new experiences and stories to tell back home. Crossing the Arctic Circle Certificate is given to you as a gift at the end of the safari.

After this great sensational experience we return to your accommodation and free time.
Free at your leisure, it gives you the chance to discover the city. If you are a family with children we recommend you to go to the Angry Birds park (free access) located near by the city center (10 min walk). Don’t forget to try the sauna at your hotel or in your cottage to feel even more relaxed before New Year’s Eve !

RANUA THE ARCTIC ZOO
Ranua Wildlife Park lays deep in an Arctic forest an hour drive away from Rovaniemi. It hosts a home for approximately 200 arctic animals such as brown bears and polar bears, lynxes, foxes and numerous birds, wild boars and elks, just to mention few. Guided tour in the park followed by buffet lunch and visit to souvenir shops and Fazer candy store.

SNOWMOBILE SAFARI UNDER THE STARS
Join us to experience the magic of the northern nature in the evening twilight. After receiving a short lesson on how to drive a snowmobile we leave the city lights behind and head to the tranquil, nocturnal forests. Drive through the beautiful, winter landscape before stopping for a break in the middle of the pitch dark forest. While the guide makes a camp fire, listen to the stories and facts about the Northern Lights. Enjoy delicious and rich Lappish delicacies prepared on the fire and observe the vast skies above you. With good luck, catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on a starry sky. This is a night to remember for those who wish to combine snowmobiling, good food and the Arctic nature in the evening.

Sokos Hotel Vaakuna located in city centre. Saunas in the basement are open in the evenings for the hotel guests. An international family owned hotel is a lovely choice for both leisure and incentive groups. There are 67 comfort twin rooms, 21 double lux rooms and 2 junior suites with own sauna, each with its own character. All rooms have been totally renovated in 2010-2011. Restaurant Monte Rosa with international cuisine and Pub Bull are also popular amongst the locals. Top floor has a sauna department with two saunas available for the guests every evening. Also possible to book privately!
